In Memory Of
Harold R. Beeson


Harold Richard Beeson, son of Ray & E. Mae (Schaffer) Beeson was born July 15, 1920 on the family farm near Clearwater, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at Park Congregational Church west of Elgin, attended Park Center School K-10 and graduated from Elgin High School in 1938. He received his Teaching Degree from Wayne State College and taught rural school in Antelope County. Harold entered the United States Navy on June 2, 1942, served in World War II, and was honorably discharged on October 9, 1945.


On March 3, 1945, Harold was united in marriage to Marjorie M. J. Sprout at Elgin, NE. The couple made their home southwest of Elgin, NE where Harold farmed with his father-in-law.


Harold was a member of Park Congregational Church, American Legion Post #229 and VFW Post #5816 of Elgin, NE.


He is survived by his wife Marjorie of Neligh, NE; one daughter Rae Jeanne Peterson of Neligh, NE; three grandsons: Jeff Lewis of Lincoln, NE; James Lewis of Madison, NE; Jon Peterson of Neligh, NE; one brother-in-law: George F. Sprout and wife Vida of Elgin, NE; two nieces: Chris Redding and husband Jim of Elgin, NE; Eileen Bode of Elgin, NE; along with other relatives and friends.


Harold was preceded in death by his parents; one son: R. Bruce Beeson; parents-in-law: George M. and Jenny Sprout; one brother: Orville Beeson; one son-in-law Lee Peterson.
