Marjorie M. J. Beeson, 91, formerly
of Elgin, NE passed away Monday, September 5,
2011 at Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September
8, 2011 at Park Congregational UCC Church west
of Elgin, NE, with Rev. Janet Davis officiating.
Burial follow in the Park Cemetery. Visitation
will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Huffman-Levander
Funeral Home in Elgin, NE.
Marjorie Mary Josephine Sprout, daughter of George
M. and Jennie (Pojar) Sprout, was born September
30, 1919 on the family farm southwest of Elgin,
NE. She was baptized and confirmed at Park Congregational
Church west of Elgin, attended Park Center School
K-10 and graduated from Elgin High School in 1937.
On March 3, 1945, Marjorie was united in marriage
to Harold R. Beeson at Elgin, NE. The couple made
their home southwest of Elgin, NE where Marjorie
was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. In
1993, the couple moved into Elgin. Marjorie entered
the Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE in the
Fall of 2009.
Marjorie was a member of Park Congregational UCC
Church, American Legion Auxiliary of Elgin, NE,
the ABC Extension Club, and was a 4-H Leader for
many years.
She is survived by one daughter: RaeJeanne Peterson
of Neligh, NE; three grandsons: Jeff Lewis of
Lincoln, NE; James Lewis of Madison, NE; Jon Peterson
of Neligh, NE; one brother: George F. Sprout and
wife Vida of Elgin, NE; two nieces: Chris Redding
and husband Jim of Elgin, NE; Eileen Bode of Elgin,
NE; along with other relatives and friends

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents;
husband Harold in September 2010; one son: R.
Bruce Beeson; one son-in-law: Lee Peterson.
