Mrs. Bauer was born Feb. 29, 1908 at Hanover,
KS to Louis and Magdalena (Prellwitz) Bohn. The
family moved to Ewing and she attended Ewing Public
Schools and graduated from Ewing High School.
She attended St. Catherine’s School of nursing
in Omaha for one year.
She was united in marriage to Alfred Bauer of
the Deloit community on Feb. 28, 1935 at St. Peter’s
Catholic Church. To this union were born three
daughters and two sons.
She worked for many years at several Ewing businesses,
retiring in 1973.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic
Church and their Christian Mothers organization.
Survivors include her three daughters: Geraldine
Bauer of Fremont, Catherine Chapman of Fremont
and MaryAnn Shrader and husband, Doug, of Hanover
Park, IL; one son: Jerry Bauer and wife, Deb,
of Ewing; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren,
a sister-in-law, Gladys Bauer of Elgin, and many
nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1947,
her parents, one son, Louis, one grandson, five
brothers, three sisters, one son-in-law, and three
nephews.
