Ivan Lester Kloepper, son of Gilbert
and Rosa (Grunke) Kloepper was born August 13,
1926 on a farm near O’neill, Nebraska. He
was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist church
in O’Neill, NE, and attended school at both
Brunswick and Neligh, Nebraska.
In 1946, Ivan enlisted in the United States Army
and was stationed in Texas & Japan as a medic
until his honorable discharge in 1948. He returned
and began farming with his father near Brunswick,
NE.
Ivan was united in marriage to Marjorie Arehart
on January 24, 1951 at West Point, Nebraska. He
continued to farm and feed cattle while they lived
south of Oakdale, Nebraska, and when they moved
to their present home west of Elgin.
He enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time
in the outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the
Elgin VFW, the Methodist church, and served terms
on the Elgin Township board, ASC board, FHA board,
and two country school boards.
Ivan died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Creighton
Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie, three daughters:
Janice Bruckner & husband Barry; Jeanne Patrick
& husband Jim, all of Norfolk, NE; Sandy White
& husband Rob of Lincoln, NE; three grandchildren:
Jennifer Ray, Bill VanDusen & Morgan White;
three step grandchildren: Kelly, Scott, and Brandon
Bruckner; one great-grandson: Cole Ray; 4 step
great-grandchildren: Shaelyn, Ashley, Allison
and Jack Bruckner; one brother: Elmer and wife
Leona of Neligh, NE.
Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, son
Randall in 1990, and one brother Walter.
