In Memory Of
Lucille J. Lordemann


Lucille Josephine (Salber) Lordemann, daughter of George and Anna (Schmitt) Salber, was born October 4, 1918 on a farm north of Petersburg, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Bonaventure Church in Raeville, NE and attended St. John Berchman School in Raeville through the eighth grade.


On May 28, 1940, Lucille was united in marriage with Raymond Francis Lordemann by Fr. Kluthe at St. Bonaventure Church in Raeville. The couple spent one year in Montana before returning to farm in the Petersburg area. Lucille was a full-time wife, mother, gardener and seamstress. In 1993, the couple moved into Petersburg. Ray passed away in December 2003 after 63 years of marriage and Lucille decided to move to Omaha in the fall of 2005. She entered Westgate Assisted Living in the summer of 2008, and later moved to Brookestone Village Skilled Nursing Facility.


It was there that she passed away on January 3, 2011 at the age of 92.
Lucille was a member of St. John’s Church, St. John’s Alter Society, Thrifty Doers Extension Club and St. John’s Quilters in Petersburg. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing cards and visiting family and friends.


She is survived by 13 children: Phyllis (Bill) Camp of Elgin; Marie (Ray) Mack of Omaha; Ray Jr. (Mary Ellen) of Greeley, CO; Rose (Dennis) Wiehn of Elgin; Walter (Darla) of Greenwood, SC; Ann (John) Hawkins, Carol (Ermin) Snitily, Agnes Mahoney, George (Bonnie), Rita Peters, Earl, Philip, Teresa (Mark) Brown, all of Omaha; 40 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Leonard and Robert of Minnesota; 1 sister: Sr. Agnes Salber OSB of Winnebago, NE; 4 sisters-in-law: Dorothy Salber of Wisconsin; Frances Salber of Minnesota; Dolores Salber of Oregon; Diane Salber of Elgin, NE.


Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray; 1 granddaughter: Joan Camp; son Mark in 2007; 5 brothers: Clarence, Joseph, Jerome, Willie, Ray; 2 sisters: Celestine and Sr. Anella OSB; 1 son-in-law: Gaylen Peters; 1 daughter-in-law: Doris Lordemann; 3 sisters-in-law: Delores, Rita, and Laura Salber.
