Marjorie C. Leibel, 85 of Elgin, NE passed away
Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Golden Living
Center in Neligh, NE.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Elgin,
NE with Rev. Ross Burkhalter officiating. Interment
will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation
will be 5:00-7:30 p.m. Monday at the church with
a 7:30 p.m. wake service. Huffman- Levander Funeral
Home of Elgin is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials are suggested to St. Boniface Catholic

Marjorie C. Leibel was born March 23, 1925 in
Elgin. She attended Rural District #82 and Boniface
schools, graduating in 1942. She worked 45 years
for the Farmers Cooperative Exchange before retiring
in 1990. Marjorie was active in St. Boniface Church,
St. Boniface Alter Society, the Elgin Chamber
of Commerce , Hobby Club and Ladies Club. She
enjoyed gardening, quilting, embroidery and genealogy.
She is predeceased by her twin sister who died
shortly after their birth, her parents Frank and
Marie (Henkenius) Leibel, her brother Francis
Leibel, sister Lois N. Lechner, brother-in-law
Joseph M. Lechner ; and niece Mary Jo Nordman.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law,
Clarice & Florian Luettel, Albion, NE; Niece
and spouse Eileen Lechner Phillips & Scott
Phillips, Lawrence, KS; and nephews and spouses
- Rob & Michelle Lechner, Omaha; John &
Mindie Lechner, Rochester, MN and Jim & Jan
Lechner, Hamburg, IA. Also by great-nephews and
great-nieces: Sarah Norwood, Jared Norwood, Mike
Norwood, Daphne Phillips, Colin Phillips, Reed
Lechner, Jeff Lechner, Jackson Lechner, Molly
Lechner and Joey Lechner. Also many family and
friends.
