In Memory Of
Irene M. Oberbrockling

Irene Marie Oberbrockling, daughter of Frank Sr. and Mary (Bueltel) Seier was born July 9, 1914 on the family farm near Petersburg, NE. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, attended St. Johns Elementary School and graduated from Petersburg High School in 1933. After graduation, Irene worked for the Peters family as housekeeper in Albion, NE during the summers and in Florida during the winters.

On November 26, 1946, she was united in marriage to Joseph L. Oberbrockling at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg, NE. The couple lived and farmed north of Raeville, NE and later south of Elgin, NE. Irene later moved to Elgin where she lived until entering the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion in December 2005.

Irene was am member of the Domestic Arts Club, St. Boniface Catholic Church and the St. Boniface Alter Society.

She is survived by 3 sons: Joseph A. Oberbrockling of Elgin; David Oberbrockling & wife Sharon of Amarillo, TX; Paul Oberbrockling & wife Karen of Kearney, NE; 3 granddaughters: Danielle Oberbrockling of Amarillo, TX; Kenna & Haley Oberbrockling of Kearney, NE; 1 brother: Frank Seier Jr. of Petersburg, NE.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband Joseph in 1960; 4 sisters: Alvera Schumacher; Delores Zoucha; Mildred Luettel; Jane Goetzinger.
