Doris Elizabeth Rieck, daughter of Chris and Rita
Nielsen was born April 15, 1925 at Elgin, Nebraska.
She was raised on a farm west of Elgin and attended
a rural Elgin school.
On March 31, 1946, she was united in marriage
to Edward Rieck. The couple lived in Elgin and
Wynott, NE and moved to Orangevale, CA in 1955.
The couple returned to Nebraska in 1976, settling
in Neligh. Doris entered the Golden Living Center
at Tilden in October 2007. After being hospitalized,
she entered the Golden Living Center at Norfolk
in September 2008.
Doris was a homemaker, raising 3 children: Kathleen,
Roger, and Kevin. Her enjoyments included making
crafts and working crossword puzzles. She was
a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Neligh.
She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Reikofski
and husband Charles of Stanton.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; husband
Edward in 1980; 2 sons: Roger and Kevin Rieck;
2 sisters: Daine Blecher and Pat Klinger; brother
Corky Nielson.
