In Memory Of
Loraine A. Scholl

Loraine Agnes Scholl, daughter of Henry and Mary (Kotte) Scholl, was born February 3, 1921 on the family farm west of Raeville, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Raeville, attended school at Dist. #16 thru the fourth grade and attended St. John Berchman School in Raeville thru the eighth grade.


In 1940, Loraine moved to Chicago to work. She moved back to the farm to help her parents after three of her brothers were called into service during World War II. She continued to help on the farm and care for her parents until their deaths in the 1960’s.


Loraine was active in the care of St. Bonaventure since the passing of her mother. She completed sacristy work for 36 years, including cleaning the rectory and church linens. During that time, she served as a Lector of the Word and as a minister of the Eucharist for over 25 years.


She continued living on the family farm until moving to the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center at Albion, NE in 2007, where she died Monday, June 29, 2009 at the age of 88.
Loraine is survived by 1 brother: John Scholl of Hastings, NE; 1 sister: Louise Billings of Clermont, FL; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.


She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister: Agatha Scholl; 4 brothers: Leo, Leonard, Ray and Wilbert Scholl
