Patricia Ann Schumacher, daughter
of Joseph and Louise (Loxterkamp) Ketteler was
born May 23, 1942 at Laurel, NE. She was baptized
on June 6, 1942 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church
in Laurel. She moved with her family to Petersburg,
NE, had her first communion on Dec. 8, 1950 and
was confirmed on Sep. 24, 1951 at St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church, received her education
from St. John’s Catholic School and graduated
with the class of 1960. After graduation, she
moved to Columbus, NE where she worked at Dale’s
Electronics.
On October 1, 1962, Pat was united in marriage
to Kenneth J. Schumacher at St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church in Petersburg. The couple made
their home on a farm north of Petersburg, where
they raised their four children: Lynette, Lisa
Keith and Kevin. Pat was a devoted farm wife,
and enjoyed 14 years as the school cook at St.
John’s Grade School.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic
Church, Christian Mothers, Alter Society, Choir,
EME and was the St. John’s Bazaar Chairman
numerous years. Pat’s greatest enjoyments
were her husband, children, grandchildren and
her flowers.
Pat is survived by her husband Ken of Petersburg;
4 children: Lynette Schumacher of Omaha; Lisa
Paul and husband Kevin of Lincoln; Keith Schumacher
and wife Diane of Petersburg; Kevin Schumacher
and wife Lisa of Elgin; 8 grandchildren: Jordan
and Miranda Paul of Lincoln; Courtney, Sydney
and Seth Schumacher of Petersburg; Taylor, Kyle
and Kaitey Schumacher of Elgin; 2 brothers: Henry
Ketteler and wife Marilyn of Petersburg; Jim Ketteler
and wife Rosemary of Atkinson; 1 sister: Helen
Borer and husband Larry of Elgin; 1 brother-in-law:
Maurice Henn of Petersburg; along with numerous
nephews, nieces, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one
sister Mary (Dolly) Henn.
