David James Voss, son of Regis
and Margaret (Mitchell) Voss was born June 23,
1966 in Dubuque, IA. He was baptized and confirmed
at St. Thomas Aquinas in Ames, IA and graduated
from Ames High School with the Class of 1984.
He attended the University of Nebraska-Omaha,
where he received education in nursing, then pursued
a career in engineering.
On August 1, 1992 he was united in marriage to
Rita Mescher at St. Boniface Catholic Church in
Elgin, NE. To this union, two daughters were born:
Rhea and Samantha. The couple made their home
in Omaha, NE where Dave worked for Industrial
Label Corporation, designing several patents.
In 2005 the couple moved to Wyoming, MN where
he worked for Ace Label Corporation.
Dave was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic
Church in Forest Lake, MN and the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed coaching his daughters in soccer and
basketball, playing with radio controlled cars
and helicopters, and working with electronics.
He was a runner and competed in several marathons.
He was an avid reader and took pleasure in constantly
learning new things.
He is survived by his wife Rita, two daughters:
Rhea 12, and Samantha 10, all of Wyoming, MN;
parents: Regis and Mardi Voss of Ames, IA; brother:
John Voss and wife Theri of Zumbrota, MN; sister:
Lori Voss of Ames, IA; mother-in-law: Carol Mescher
of Elgin, NE; along with many other relatives
and friends.
A memorial service was held at 7:30 p.m. Monday
at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Forest
Lake, MN. A memorial service is also being planned
at St. Thomas Aquinas in Ames, IA and the date
and time will be announced as soon as arrangements
are made.
