Edna M. Wilkinson

Edna Maxine Edwards Wilkinson, daughter of Rodney and Mabel (Scears) Edwards was born February 26, 1922, near Oakdale, NE. She was baptized in the Methodist faith, attended Elgin Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1939.


She was united in marriage to Paul E. Miller at Yankton, SD. The couple made their home in Elgin. Three sons were born to this marriage: Jerry, Duane, and Dale.


On February 4, 1974, Edna was married to Irl Wilkinson at Hastings, NE. The couple lived in Hastings, Norfolk and Oakdale. She taught at rural schools, worked at Farmers Storage, Baldwin Filters, and Dale Electronics.


She was a member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church, Friends of Oakdale Library, Neligh Women’s Bowling Association, and the Oakdale Senior Citizens.


Edna is survived by her 3 sons: Jerry (Gloria) Miller of Columbus; Duane (Vicki) Miller of Elgin; Dale (Kim) Miller of Lincoln; 5 step-children: Dale (Joyce) Wilkinson of Neligh; Ron Wilkinson and friend Donna of Oakdale; Lynn (Pat) Wilkinson of Neligh; Vance (Lori) Wilkinson of Grand Island; Roseann (Pat) Cool of Columbus; 5 grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 31 step-great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Irl Wilkinson; 1 brother Robert Edwards; 2 sisters: Arlene Miller and Mary Miller; 1 grandson: Jeremy Miller.
